The Denton County Beekeeping Association (“DCBA”) is committed to the privacy of its members, registrants, and other visitors to its website, and believes that members and registrants must be assured that personal data provided online is used responsibly and appropriately. In this privacy policy, the terms “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to DCBA.

We collect personal data for various reasons, such as:  providing personalized website content, eCommerce, communicating with members and prospective members, facilitating communication among members, event registration, guest information, surveys and evaluations, timing and duration of use of our services, legal compliance, and various other ancillary services directly related to participating in and interacting with DCBA.

The Personal Data we collect that can be used to identify an individual includes:

  • First and last name of participating family members

  • Telephone numbers

  • Email Address

  • Participating Family Members

  • Guest first and last name

  • Guest email address

  • Guest phone number

We may also collect non-personal data when you visit our website. This can include, but is not limited to, database ID numbers, cookies, and IP addresses.

We will share personal contact information with the Texas Beekeepers Association to facilitate your complimentary one-year membership.

Financial transactions relating to the provision of our services are handled by our payment services providers and will only be used in conjunction with the provision of those services, reporting, processing refunds, or addressing inquiries. We use PayPal for financial transactions.

We utilize industry-standard encryption in all transactions, to protect user accounts, and to protect our website and services. We restrict access to personal data only to those individuals who have a legitimate business reason to use it, in the general course of conducting business with us.

Consequently, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us and you understand that any information that you transfer to DCBA is done at your own risk. However, DCBA uses software and vendors that utilize security measures consistent with current best practices to protect its members and their information.

Certain features on our website may give you an opportunity to interact with us and others.  These may include blogs, message boards, messaging functionality, and listservs. When you use these features, you should be aware that any information you submit, including your name, location, telephone numbers, and email address, may be publicly available to others. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY INFORMATION YOU CHOOSE TO SUBMIT THROUGH THESE INTERACTIVE FEATURES, AND STRONGLY DISCOURAGE YOU FROM DISCLOSING ANY SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA (SUCH AS CREDIT CARD INFORMATION) THROUGH THESE FEATURES. Information Available to Other Members 

Registered members have access to your name through our member directory.  They may have access to any other information that you post voluntarily on a forum, listserv, message board or as a comment.

 

Updating Your Personal Information 

If you are a member or registrant, your personal data is supplied voluntarily by you, and you have the right to edit or update it at any time by logging into our website.

 

Changes to the Privacy Policy 

DCBA reserves the right to revise this privacy policy at any time and without notice. All updates will be posted on this page. Your use of DCBA services following such changes means that you accept the revised policies.
